Costa Oriental was recertified by the National Customs Bureau as a Certified Economic Operator (CEO), thus validating its status as a reliable and safe operator.
In 2015 Costa Oriental was the first free trade zone logistics operator in Uruguay to obtain this certification, after an audit process that confirmed the standards of security, organization, processes, administration and financial statements.
The CEO is the figure created by the National Customs Bureau of Uruguay to implement the Authorized Economic Operator Program, promoted by the World Customs Organization, with the support of the Inter-American Development Bank. Its primary objective is to facilitate international trade under a scheme of trust and security, guaranteeing the protection of all links in the international supply chain, so that it translates into opportunities for economic growth and increased competitiveness for countries.
