Costa Rica hosted the 20th conference of Free Zones of the Americas on September 28th and 29th.
Participants included several high level panelists, 300 private companies, Governments, and NGOs reflecting the evolution and future status of the free zone regimes in LATAM.
Juan Opertti, Director of Costa Oriental, opened the first session of the event with a presentation dealing with the FTZ as a development tool and the success story of Uruguay as a Regional Logistics Center.
The event was organized by the Association of Free Zones of the Americas (AZFa) and the Association of Free Trade Zones in Costa Rica (Azofras). In 2017, the World Conference on Free Zones will be held in Cartagena, Colombia.
